My paintings are basically a
reflection of what I see around me that is beautiful or curious.
I have been concentrating on pastel for the past few years; I have
fallen in love with the colors and vibrancy that the medium has to
offer. Recently though, I have begun working in oils again. I like scenes that have distinctive
lighting or reflections in them,
and I feel that this aspect can add to both the beauty and the intrigue
of the setting. I'm not really interested in creating paintings
that are depressing or controversial. I like including figures in my work, and I
often use my own children as
models. With or without humans present, though, I want to create
a work that calls to the owner, creating a place where they would like
to be or which constantly intrigues them. |
